I began writing during the quiet nights of Covid. My first concept is still tucked away and maybe one day I will revisit it. A friend suggested writing about the island that I love so much and The Inheritance was born. Now, I’m penning the rest of the adventures. I hope you’ll dive into the crystal-clear waters off the coast in my series, the Cozumel Island Adventures.

 

A little backstory about the book. I have been vacationing in Cozumel for over 10 years and have fallen in love with the island and its people. Scuba diving became a passion of mine from my very first visit and continues to bring me joy each time I do a backwards roll off of our little boat the Lorena, owned by our Divemaster, and now longtime friend Hector. The food, from the small back street taco shop, to the 10 course meal prepared by Chef Alejandro at 10 Experiences, makes this small island a food lovers paradise as well.

While the story of the The Inheritance is not true, the depiction of the island is my truth and my love story to the place that I go back to again and again.

 

The Inheritance is the story of Rebecca “Bex” Freeman. It explores themes of taking risks, facing fears and embracing change. Her journey blends friendship, romance and a touch of mystery against the backdrop of island life.
