About Adrienne
Adrienne Baerny is a globe-trotting adventurer, proud mom, and storyteller with an insatiable wanderlust that shows no signs of slowing down. Raised across a tapestry of cultures—from the sun-soaked shores of Cyprus and the vibrant streets of India to the wild beauty of Africa, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands—her early life was anything but ordinary. Later, she made the Pacific Northwest her home, where she fell in love with the rugged trails and majestic mountains of Washington State.
These days, Adrienne soaks up the sunshine in Florida alongside her spirited tripawd pup, Kaidee. Whether she’s kayaking through mangroves or diving into the crystal-clear waters off her favorite island, Cozumel, she’s always chasing her next great adventure.
Her writing journey began during the stillness of Covid, when she started outlining what would become her debut novel, The Inheritance. When she’s not immersed in storytelling or exploring the Florida coast, you’ll find her deep beneath the waves, scuba diving in search of inspiration and sea turtles.
About the Inheritance
Bex, brought up by her aunt since the age of ten, believed she knew everything about her. After a tragic accident, she discovers otherwise. Among her aunt’s secrets is a letter asking Bex to spend a year on the island, immersing herself in its culture and stepping outside her comfort zone before receiving her inheritance.
Reluctantly, Bex trades her routine city life for turquoise water and sun-drenched streets. The island quickly works its magic. She is welcomed into a lively circle of friends, discovers a world beneath the sea she never imagined, and a charming stranger quickly captures her attention. For the first time, the life she left behind begins to feel far away.
But as her feelings deepen, Bex realizes the man she is falling for may be hiding something important.
When one of their friends suddenly disappears, the group is left searching for answers. As suspicion grows and loyalties are tested, Bex must navigate shifting relationships and unsettling truths while standing beside the friends who have become her new family.
Exploring themes of taking risks, facing fears, and embracing change, The Inheritance blends friendship, romance, and a touch of mystery against the backdrop of island life.
